WolfBound

Kazu Kibuishi’s “Amulet” meets Raina Telemeier’s “Smile” in this fantasy, coming of age middle-grade graphic novel about a tween who discovers she can transform into a wolf after being bitten by one. But this isn’t your typical werewolf story… she can now talk to other animals, see visions of the past and has remarkable healing abilities. But she lives in a town, far away from the forest where the other wolfbounds live… how did she get to be there in the first place, and how is this somehow linked to the mysterious death of her father?

I started making WolfBound when I was 12, around the time of covid. After being unable to publish a previous short graphic novel I made when I was 11 (as there was copyright with a rubiks cube), I wanted to create a story with my own IP. I loved drawing animals and forests my whole life, so wanted to create a story bridging the gap between nature and humans, through a shapeshifter werewolf, Juliet. And so, WolfBound was born!

From then, I worked at every spare moment I had, from the roughs to inking pages, all while studying at school. Progress slowed as school became more serious, but I love WolfBound, and managed to push through. WolfBound is a project I hold close to heart, it helped me through some difficult times at school and with my metal health, as something to fall back to.

I’ve loved comics and storytelling from a young age, and hope to continue WolfBound, with two prequles planned out, and more concepts graphic novels in the future!

I hope to share the stories living rentfree in my mind with others, and hope that they enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed creating them.
