A GCSE short comic (1/3)
The Horned Wolf
A super short four page comic I made for my first GCSE 10 hour mock. The theme for this project was natural forms

“The Horned Wolf” showed the story of a young wolf who was born with pink fur and antlers, making him different from other wild wolves, and difficult for him to survive (hunting, camouflaging etc). However, through the story he learns that his “differences” can be used positively, and to his advantage (such as using horns to reach fruit from higher branches, to reach fish etc). Although he was born different, he can still succeed, he might just have to do it differently from the norm.
This was made in response to me recently getting diagnosed with different mental disabilities at the time (such as ADHD and autism), and struggling to find a “positive” in my condition, and how I’d live life differently. I tried to make this showing “positives” of being different, but now being more educated, I know that disabilities should be treated as such, rather than “superpowers” as commonly seen in the media. As it is more difficult to live life with an impairment, and it should not be treated as a “want to have” in the media. Although, I do agree with still being able to live a good life, just having to live it a bit differently to others.
I created this in June of 2023, as part of a 10 hour mock. I had several hours to prepare beforehand, as you can see below. However, at this point, it was my first short comic, and I didn’t plan very thoroughly, leading to very little pages being made. In my other short comics made during GCSEs, they were 10-17 pages long. The next short comic I made for GCSEs was [link] “The Mist”.
